Enrico's Vespa - A journey through Europe
“Enrico’s Vespa” is an exciting book for children and a collector’s piece for all parents.Painted by Piaggio Advertisement-Illustrator of the 50's and 60's. With 60 pages, in full colour. Size 30cm x 30cm. Hardcover - Extras including a board game and a cut-out sheet at the end of the book.  English & French (two languages in one edition)   If Piaggio (the Vespa manufacturer) had published a children’s book back in the 50s, it would probably have looked like “Enrico’s Vespa”. Why? Because the prize-winning designer Elena Pongiglione has illustrated this book. She designed most of the official Vespa artwork for Piaggio in the 50s and 60s. Today, deep into the Internet Age and 50 years after the great era of commercial art at Piaggio, this children’s book recaptures the spirit of the legendary Italian scooters. On his father’s Vespa, Enrico sets out on a fantastic tour through Europe. He is joined by his sister Elena, the teddy bear Yo Yo, the cat Minou and the dog Wow Wow. “Enrico’s Vespa” is an exciting book for children and a collector’s piece for all parents. This book also includes a board game and a cut-out sheet for the whole family featuring Enrico and his friends. Prices include P&P.

Friday on my Mind by Don Hughes....
SOLD OUT - Waiting for re-print expected Mid-Late September 2010 - PRE-ORDERS TAKEN - First 50 copies signed by the author. (credit cards won't be debited until books are ready to post) The Mods were undoubtedly the first real multi-culturalists, combining Jamaican Ska, US Soul, British Beat, Pop Art Graphics, French Designs and Italian Suits and Scooters into a sensational style explosion that still reverberates today. They were, quite literally, the heart-beat of Swinging London. Now for the very first time, a working class insider spills the beans on what it was like in the eye of the style storm. A time and a place when a Vespa SS could take you to the centre of everything, to see The Who or The Birds - or a chat with Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Steve Marriott's Small Faces, John Stephen and Eric Clapton. Complete with unseen photos, rare graphics and authentic diary extracts. This book is intensely personal and a generationally epic, a real life QUADROPHENIA, from s man who was actually there...... - Soft Back, approx 330 pages, A5 size - RRP 12.99 plus P&P.

Time, Trouble and Money

Vespa Forever (Book) New!
“Vespa Forever” is not an attempt to provide an exhaustive account of Vespa history. This has already been accomplished by a number of books in the large family of Vespa literature. This book sets out to provide insight into the fascinating world of Vespa collector’s items. Back in the 1960ies, the Vespa was not always considered technically superior to its competitors. But, whether there has ever existed a better looking scooter lies in the eye of the beholder. It has often been noted that the Vespa is a work of art; again, this is a matter of opinion. However, the Vespa’s design has one undisputed characteristic - it possesses timelessness, its perennial attractiveness transcending such notions as trendy and old-fashioned. This distinction is not always the case with the accessories inspired by the Vespa, which are indeed subject to the changes of time and whims of taste. Thus, with this book we also hope to present a tour d`horizon across more than 50 years of graphic arts, fashion and style. We have intentionally refrained from listing prices. Many of the objects portrayed are unique and are treasured collector’s items, more often exchanged than paid for. There are no fixed prices. The buyer pays the price he feels it is worth. Meanwhile, Vespa items have become quite an investment. What they should remain, though, are objects to be collected and cherished. Contents include: Introduction Vespa Vorwort von Prof. Fanfani (6-7) Vespa Words (1952) (8-9) Today’s Vespa Collecting (10-18) Chapters on 1. Toy Models (19-50) 2. Postcards (51-74) 3. Smokers‘ Corner (75-80) 4. Badges (81-102) 5. Keyrings (103-108) 6. Trophies (109-122) 7. Pennants & Banners (123-136) 8. Posters (137-164) 9. Cinema (165-178) 10. Advertisements (179-190) 11. Maps and World Address Book (191-196) 12. Literature (197-220) 13. Dealer Signs (221-226) 14. Curiosities (227-242) 15. Vespa Parts (243-254) 16. Final (255-266) Appendix (267-272) The size of the book is 24,5 cm x 33 cm - Hardcover - In German, English, Italian Languages. Prices include Post and Packaging.
